The Dolphin Coast Residents and Ratepayers Association (DOCRRA) is back!

Further to DOCRRA’s last AGM, held in May, the new committee has progressed well with reinvigorating the organisation.

With a refreshed brand and strategy, DOCRRA has hit the ground running with a roadshow of presentations to the larger estates and residential complexes, having already secured corporate membership from both Simbithi Eco Estate and Brettenwood Estate. The purpose of the roadshow is to share information on both DOCRRA and the issues it has identified it will be working on.

While the rates and taxes that we pay for services, and the quality of service delivery we receive remain central to our concerns, a number of projects that DOCRRA will be focusing its efforts on in the coming months include Roads and Traffic, Town Planning and Building Regulations, and Air Quality in our area.

‘With the influx of estates cropping up in our areas, it is critical that an organisation such as DOCRRA bridge the municipal gap,’ states DOCRRA’s Chairman, Ken Lever. ‘Supporting our Community is our motto – we are here to be the voice of all residents and ratepayers on the Dolphin Coast,’ Ken added.

The DOCRRA Committee consists of eight volunteers who are not paid and who provide their time and efforts pro bono, but currently consists of members from one ethnic group only.   DOCRRA is keen to represent all sectors of our community and there are two further places open on the Committee. DOCRRA therefore encourages interested and committed citizens from other ethnic groups to volunteer their services to broaden the reach and responsibility of the organisation.
