Good morning Dolphin Coast Community,

Please note that DOCRRA is finalizing a full report on the outcomes of their engagement with KDM, which will be released later today, along with a link to the podcast of the chairman’s interview on 88FM. This will be shared with the community in due course.

With regards to a meeting that has been queried: According to our ward councilors, this is the normal monthly Council meeting that has been brought forward from the scheduled date 25th June, to today instead. It is, per standard, open to the public to attend as silent observers.

Only councilors are alerted to date changes for the meeting. DOCRRA has not been invited, nor is in a position to extend an invitation to attend the meeting. DA ward councilors should advise of meeting dates and changes.

As for the process that is being followed regarding approving the budget, as far as DOCRRA is aware, before the new budget can be implemented, the following needs to happen:

1. Council must first vote (happening today)

2. The budget must then be signed off by COGTA

3. Government must gazette the new by-laws (rates) before 1st July

Please contact your ward councilors for further info regarding meetings. If you aren’t sure who your councilor is, please visit our website here to find out: https://docrra.co.za/kdm-ward-maps-councilors/
