LETTER from the DOCRRA CHAIRMAN
I wish to commend and thank those estates that are currently members of DOCRRA and provide great support and contribution to DOCRRA’s goals to promote and protect the interests of all residents and ratepayers within the jurisdiction of the Dolphin Coast area.
Member estates show support, participation and a commitment, on behalf of their residents, to the improving the management of services and infrastructure in the greater Dolphin Coast. They are open minded in recognising that their estates form part of a much larger community. They seek to be informed, participate and share pertinent information with their residents. They also realise that the property values for their residents depends on not just the efficient management of the estate behind the security perimeters, but also what happens in the community around them. One could argue that member estates are community minded, proactive and have a long-term view of the Dolphin Coast and their estates.
The DOCRRA membership has grown extensively over the last year as a result of a strategic approach to the many estates on the Dolphin Coast. A 50% discount is offered on the minimal DOCRRA fee for estates. For less than R10 per dwelling per month, it must be the best way in protecting, maintaining and growing your investment and quality of life. Residents in estates all become members of DOCRRA by proxy through their management structures, thereby supporting and benefitting from the broad range of activities of DOCRRA. Estate residents that want to be more directly involved, to serve on some of the many committees or exercise their own personal vote, can also join in their individual capacity.
DOCRRA regularly shares information and uses its influence to ensure efficient management of the Dolphin Coast. This is due to our active collaboration with key parties such as the KwaDukuza Municipality, the Ilembe Municipality and all other Government structures, SAPS, Ilembe Chamber. UIP, and the Dolphin Coast Conservancy. This provides a platform for members to voice their concerns and opinions, and have access to these parties, where required.
