The Docrra committee believes there is a constructive way to influence the proposed rates, taxes and tariff increases suggested by KDM.

As the recognised representative body for the Dolphin Coast, DOCRRA has formed a dedicated sub-committee to assess the draft capital and operational budgets of KDM and make considered counter proposals to these and the proposed increases. This sub-committee has been expanded to include interested external specialists.

Once the committee has finalised its proposals, the community will be approached to consider the proposals and seek its support. This may also include a supporting petition.

DOCRRA is unconvinced of the real impact the current mass objection action petition can have on meaningful change at KDM. There is probably no harm done with it though, and it does help to release much pent-up frustration.

Please also listen to the interview the DOCRRA chairman, Deon Viljoen, had with Dave Charles on 88FM Ballito on 22 May 2020, regarding this matter.
