We are pleased to report that DOCRRA was invited to meet with the full executive committee of the Kwadukuza Municipality on Friday 12 June 2020, regarding the dispute action taken by DOCRRA against the proposed KDM 2020/21 Budget. The submission made on 08 June 2020, on behalf of the Residents and Ratepayers of the Dolphin Coast was discussed in detail.

The meeting with the Mayor, Municipal Manager, CFO, COO and 7 Executive Directors of business units lasted some 2 hours. The well-structured meeting was frank, informative and productive. Both parties could highlight concerns and issues, share information and put forward proposals.

KDM has committed to providing their final feedback regarding the DOCRRA submission on Friday, 19 June 2020. Thereafter DOCRRA will report back on the outcome of the negotiations with KDM on the Capital and Operating Budgets for 2020/21.

We feel encouraged at the level of engagement achieved and feel confident that DOCRRA has now established a firm and respectful working relationship with the executive of the Kwadukuza Municipality.

We feel strongly that this is evidence that the strategy that DOCRRA is implementing, is working.

A new journey for the Dolphin Coast Residents and Ratepayers has begun!
